A haunted house? No! Haunted building? No! Haunted people? Yes!
You are about to follow the journey of the twins Magol and Malin, who have moved to this tiny island of 33.000 residents nicknamed Skull Island. Now, obviously, the twins have done their due diligence of researching the place before they moved there – everything from law to culture, so there shouldn’t be any big surprises when they arrive there, right?
They arrived on Sunday – their place was already furnished, so they spent the day checking out their neighborhood. During their walk, they encountered people, and when doing small talk – trying to connect with the locals – they felt that the energy was off. It is hard for them to put into words why they felt this way. It wasn’t what the locals said or how they said it; it wasn’t the cultural difference they experienced, but rather it was something off with their eyes. There was no light behind their eyes, if that makes sense. They all had dead eyes.
On their walk, they stopped by the grocery store, as their fridge was empty. When they walked in, they were met with this cold atmosphere. The actual store wasn’t cold, but the energy is like that of a corpse – cold and lifeless. Though the store was filled with people, besides themselves, you could not feel a heartbeat – you could not feel life being emitted from the people around them. The twins looked at each other, and without any words being mentioned, told each other that they were creeped out.
When they were paying the cashier, they made it an effort to not appear unsettled. The cashier asked if they wanted the receipt with a smile, but Malin said no thanks as Magol was putting their items in the bag. Though Malin succeeded in appearing cool, she was freaking out internally. The cashier also had dead eyes.
When they got home, they put on some Bob Marley to lighten the mood as they were cooking. Their cooking/singing session was then interrupted by a phone call from back home. It was their parents checking in on them. The conversation lasted for about 30 minutes, but neither of the twins mentioned how they are unsettled by the locals – part of the reason is not to worry their parents, another part of the reason is they know that their feelings are hard to explain if you have not experienced it before.
To be continued…
